Admin Console Process for Apps Will Be Removed Soon

To make understand how to command app access for users. The uninstall app feature will be unfastened from the Admin Console of G Suite. Uninstall process is an inheritance way to detach a G Suite App or supplementary Google Services for all in an Association, it gives us the privilege to remove an application at a domain level i.e none of the users will be able to access that particular app which is uninstalled to where it has been taken the place by settings “ON or OFF apps” for users.

This facilities of uninstalling are going to be withdrawn on January 15, 2019.

G Suite comes with a suite of applications like Gmail, Google Drive, Hangouts, Calendar, Google Docs, Sheets & Slides etc but when it comes to an organizational point of view many customers don’t want to give all the application to end user due to their internal policy of work culture. Thus over the period of time G Suite has come up with various features in which a customer can give the privileges of applications to end users.

Coming to the history of various features given in G Suite are as follows

1. Uninstall App: Earlier when G Suite (Google apps for work) launched it came with an uninstall feature wherein the admin can uninstall the applications available in G Suite.

2. Turn ON/OFF: After a certain period of time another feature of Turn ON/OFF of applications was added, wherein the admin can easily revoke the access of apps of any particular user or group of users.

Follow the steps for the Turn ON/OFF Process :

1. Go to Admin Console panel - > Open the dashboard -> click to Apps

2) Click to G Suite -> select -> Follow the steps given below

3) For Turn ON/OFF click to the app -> select and save

Drawbacks of Uninstall Feature:

When an application was uninstalled it was removed for all the users i.e. no one would be able to use that particular application, but seeing the requirement of the customer where they wanted the application should be removed only for a particular set of users.

Thus Google added Turn On/ Off feature wherein the admin can create OU’S and Revoke the access of the particular application.

Upcoming Changes:

As per the recent article shared by Google, the uninstall application will be completely removed from G Suite from 15th January 2019.

With the result of this, there will be only 1 feature to give the privileges of application i.e Turn On / Off Feature.
