Ways to Increase the Storage of User (Consumer + G Suite Basic) in Google Drive
Storage in the drive might not be infinite but if managed properly they can last a while. For us, humans, “the sky is the limit” but for G Drive its 30 TB.
Google Drive: The one place where every picture you take, every document you make, every contact you create or every mail you get is stored in a unified location or platform from where all can be accessed through either desktop or mobile phones/laptops easily and promptly. You can track the locus of your journey a month ago through G Drive as the data is tracked and stored for future use if and when the need arises again. It’s very easy to search and find anything in G Drive as well.
Google Drive has a combined(Photos, Mails, and Drive) storage of 15GB and 30GB for Consumers and G Suite Basic users respectively.
Be it a Consumer Version, or G Suite Basic, after some time the storage gets filled so every user needs additional storage to their drive when the storage is nearing its end. That can be done easily just by clicking on the “Manage” Option on the bottom left corner,
a page will open showing the options to buy either 100 GB of storage or 1 TB of storage per month, etc.
After monetary transaction Storage will be assigned to the user’s drive-by Google, instantaneously and it will show total storage of 115 GB or 130 GB respectively. (If one buys the first plan to add 100GB)
The other ways to increase storage are:
Deleting photos from G Drive.
Deleting old, unimportant emails from all emails.
Empty the “Trash” from G Drive.
Note: You can also check and keep track of the amount of storage
For G Suite as well the above three mentioned points are valid. The other ways to increase drive storage are:
Through Admin Console.:
Admin has the power to upgrade the storage of its users.
Admin.google.com → (after login) Apps → G Suite → Add Services → Add Storage or upgrade to G Suite Business or G Suite Enterprise. (navigate through the Payment) then the storage will be added.
For reference See the images below.
If availing G Suite through a partner, ask the partner to provide the same for the specific user.
Summary: Storage in the drive might not be infinite but if managed properly they can last a while. For us, humans, “the sky is the limit” but for G Drive its 30 TB.
