Google Hangout is Going to be Replaced Soon

We have been accustomed to the Classic Hangout for video, audio & chat conversations. It is a very useful app to execute all from the same interface for free. But Google has decided to replace it soon.

Hangouts will be split into two separate apps for scheduled & non-scheduled conversations. Meet & Chat are the two new unique ways which will take chatting and video conferencing to a next level.

Google Meet & Google Chat- Its Hangouts, Redesigned!

Google Meet is the new way for scheduled video calls with a better performance over classic hangouts. It is also regularly updated with new features. It is a secure and reliable method for guests to join meetings. The high-quality videos with so many participants will take the limelight.

Key features of Google Meet which are not available in Google Classic Hangout:

• High-resolution content supported on Android as well as IOS.

• Upto 25 participants can join the video call for any editions of G Suite.

• For G Suite Enterprise, upto 50 participants can attend the video call at a time.

• Chat messages can be sent during the video meetings providing a better collaboration.

• G Suite Enterprise users can record meetings for references.

• IOS mobile and tablet are also supported.

• Unique meeting URLs are generated and participants can join the video meeting through that link.

• Presentations over the meetings are made easier.

• For all the Calendar events, an automatic hangout meeting link is created.

Now let's talk about the new Google Chat... Google Chat is an app that would give chatting a whole new experience, with text and rich media, in multiple conversations at the same time. It enables users to communicate effectively and streamline their decision making.

Key features of Google Chat which are not in Google Classic Hangout:

• You can edit/delete a message which has already been sent.

• Online Documents can be shared from Drive & offline documents can be uploaded from the system.

• Instead of posting new chats as follow-ups to things posted earlier, direct reply to older conversations is possible.

• Rooms can be created where users can join or leave, can hold multiple threaded conversations.

• Invitations for scheduled video meetings can be sent via chat.

• Texts, people, and rooms can be searched, along with filtering.
