New Gmail User Interface
New Google Interface to make Gmail more user friendly. These features of Gmail will save time and also enhance the work speed as the features will be available in same window and can be accessed easily.
Google has introduced the New Gmail User Interface to make Gmail console more comfortable and user-friendly.
In this column, we will discuss the details of the new Gmail features provided by Google.
Google has added some options like:
1. Organize email from your inbox
2. Snooze your emails
3. Nudging option
4. View Calendar, Task, Keep, add-ons from the same Gmail window
1. Organize email from your inbox
This feature allows you to organize your emails directly from the inbox like whether you want to archive, delete, make 'read', or snooze. You can move your mouse pointer to the right side of any email and click as per your requirement. The below screenshot is showing the options :
2. Snooze your email
This option comes along with snoozing the email and you can see it as per your planned timing. You can find this option at the rightmost and by clicking it you can set the desired timing as per requirement.
In this way, you can see the emails as per your required time.
3. Nudging option
Nudge is the option where if you forget to reply any mail or maybe even skipped in hurry, this option identifies those kinds of emails and brings them back at the top of your inbox automatically to notify.
4. View Calendar, Task, Keep, Add-ons from the same Gmail window
No need to click on multiple windows, Google has brought the Calendar, Task, Keep and Add-ons in the same window.
You can now directly access these features from the right sidebar by just clicking once. Also, you can add some Add-ons if you like to see and use them in the right sidebar.
Note that this is the Early Adopter Program from Google and still going through rollouts. This will be implemented fully after the rollout process completes.
Also, to use the New Gmail UI and its feature you must turn on the “Early Adopter Program” from the Google Admin console” for G suite users. Please find the below information to turn on the option from Admin console.
Enable Gmail for a domain or organizational unit
1. Sign in to your Google Admin console
2. From the Admin console dashboard, go to Apps
3. In User settings, scroll to New Gmail Early Adopter Program
4. Click Allow my users access to the new Gmail UI and features
5. Click Save. It may take up to one hour for changes to propagate to all users
After enabling that, you will find an option to switch to new Gmail by clicking the gear button of 'Settings'.
