Organize Live Events with Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams offers Team Live events empowering you to reach out to a large audience, where the host is leading the interaction and the attendees can interact through a Q & A Chatbox.
Teams live events is basically an extension of Teams meetings, which enables users to broadcast video and meeting content to a large online audience. It is a platform using which you can have one-to-many communications where the host of the event is leading the interactions and audience participation is primarily to view the content shared by the host. The attendees can watch the live or recorded event in Teams or Stream and can interact with the presenters using moderated Q & A. In a live event 10,000 attendees can join at a time.
To schedule a Live event, below are the prerequisites-
An Office 365 Enterprise License (E1, E3, or E5) or an Office 365 A3 or A5 license
A Microsoft Teams license
A Microsoft Stream license
Steps to schedule Live Events in Teams:
In Teams, select calendar and then in the drop-down menu, select Live Event.
Add the Title, Location( if the Live event is being hosted in a particular location), Date, and Time of the event. The maximum duration of the event is 4:00 hours.
Now add Presenters, who will be presenting the Live session with you, you can even make other participants Producer.
For the Producer and Presenter, you need to have the Windows app of Teams Installed in your system.
Select Next.
Now under Live event permissions, depending upon the Type of Live Event, you can select the three options available-
People and Group: If you wish to invite Only specific people and group
Org- Wide: If you want to host an event for the people in your organisation only.
Public: In case, you wish to reach a large number of people, and even people outside your organisation. The attendees can join as anonymous and no sign-in required.
Now click Schedule.
The Live Event has been scheduled and you are ready to go live !!
Live Events are very much useful in case you wish to reach out to a big audience outside your organisation, beneficial in product launches, Live Educational classes, and Company updates that need to be broadcasted. The best thing is you don’t have to add the attendees, you just need to share the attendee’s link and anyone can join from anywhere.
