Monitor Your Group Mails

As we all know that G-Suite is more of enterprise purpose rather than that of bulk mailing, hence it is always recommended by Google to create Groups and use it for mass mailing up to some extent.

Now there is also a reverse action of the same. Since a user will use a Group ID to send mails, it is also expected that the Group might receive bulk mails from other external domains as well. G-Suite brings an option to monitor the same. It is known as Group Moderation Queue.

The ultimate purpose of using group moderation queue is to avoid receiving random mass mails in Group IDs. It seeks permission from the G-Suite Admin whether the mails actually need to be delivered to the group members or not. Once this option is enabled from admin console it works as below:

1. Mail sent from any external/internal users to the Group will move into the moderation queue.

2. Admin will receive an alert of the same.

3. Admin has the access to go through the mail in details.

4. Admin will thereafter approve the mail delivery to the respective group members safely.

Until the Admin user approves, the mail won’t be actually landing in the inbox whereas it will be queued.

Now we are providing the steps to enable the same:

1. Sign in to Google Groups

2. Click My Groups

3. Choose a group

4. Click on access settings

5. On the left, click Settings Moderation.

6. Select the settings shown in below screenshot. You can review every message or messages from new members or non-members, and choose settings for rejected posts.

     7. Click Save.

The above step will act as -- whenever any user will send a mail to the concerned group --  it will ask for approval of the admin. Along with this, proves the control of the G-Suite Administrator as well.
