Now Easily Migrate your Classic Hangouts Users to Google Chat

Google chat is the most efficient business communication app now. It is an intelligent and secured tool which allows you to communicate with others by direct messaging. Moreover, it fulfills all of the business needs around messaging. According to the latest update, now anyone can easily migrate from the classic Hangouts to Google chat. This could be done by changing only one setting. In the admin console if the ‘chat preferred’ option is enabled then Google chat will become the default chat application for the organization. It will replace the classic Hangouts app.

How to Enable or Disable the Setting?

Enabling or disabling can be done from the admin’s end. It remains disabled by default. Admin can enable it at the domain level. It is recommended to keep both Hangouts and chat enabled to maximize the chat network. 

When admin enables ‘chat preferred’ setting, it will migrate all of the users of the particular domain at once. However migration in the organization level is not available right now and might be available after a couple of weeks.
