The G Suite project workspace tool OverDRIVE is being used by UNESCO Sardona, to share huge loads of funds publicly and open access information related to their world famous heritage site in Switzerland.

What is UNESCO Sardona?

Due to its unique and spectacular geological formations, UNESCO Sardona is a natural heritage site. The Swiss Tectonic Arena Sardona is situated in the north-eastern part of the country. It covers a substantial mountainous area, that features 7 peaks that rise above 3,000m and is a hugely significant natural phenomenon.

Need for G Suite

UNESCO Sardona required a simple and effective way to manage and share large chunks of publicly funded data with local tourist organizations, offices, visitor centers, scientists, teachers, hikers and even the media. Although the website is maintained by the Sites Office, educators, adventure planners, and external scientists all contribute to the site. It contains varieties of scientific and educational resources, focused at a number of target groups and stakeholders.

The Solution - Google Drive and OverDRIVE

UNESCO Sardona had already used Google Drive, a tool of G Suite, for data storage and update. However, using OverDRIVE meant that the pieces of information could be shared publicly as a website in an easy and user-friendly way. Educational and scientific materials are now organized as well as displayed topicwise, based on the target group.

The site also serves as a membership cum partnership info point and incorporates a Registration Process for scientific researches being conducted in that region.

The International Slackline Association (ISA) is using Google Intranet OverDRIVE as a platform to display their SlackED Data. OverDRIVE’s integration with G Suite Docs, Sheets, Forms and much more has made it feasible to share public data across the websites. This will help to keep the ISA members engaged internationally with current news, activities, and events. The OverDRIVE site has features that allow members to view safety regulations, file incidents and keep an eye on Slackline Distance records, keeping all associates connected in one place.
