Now, if someone is seriously evaluating Cloud, how to adjudicate which service is best suitable for them? There are two major cloud platforms in the market: Google Cloud Platform & Amazon Web Services. Let’s compare them on the following points:
Market Share
According to Gartner, Inc. Infrastructure as a service Market has grown at 31.3% in 2018 to total $32.4 billion, which is up by $24.7 billion of 2017,. Amazon stood first, whereas Google was 4th in the list.
Amazon has estimated $15.5 billion of revenue in 2018, up 27% from 2017 whereas Google has estimated $1.3 billion of revenue in 2018, up by 60.2% from 2017.
Top five providers are expected to grow at a high rate in the coming time as well.

Predictions and Facts
Gartner, Inc. Forecasts Cloud Revenue to Grow by 17% to a total $266.4 billion, up from $227.8 billion in 2019 in 2020, among which IaaS is expected have maximum share. SaaS is expected to hold the largest market segment. SaaS is forecasted to grow to $116 billion due to its scalable nature.
IaaS, is expected to be the second-largest market with a growth rate of 24% to achieve $50 billion in 2020. which is the highest across all market segments.

Customization
GCP provides a wider range of customization for the Infrastructure & flexibility as far as the pricing is concerned.
Service Availability
AWS has its service available in 18 Regions, with more than 3 zones per Region, whereas GCP has that in 15 Regions, with more than 2 zones per Region.
Big Data Analytics
Both GCP & AWS provide similar services for Data Analysis, Data Processing, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence. Google has an edge over Amazon because of its newer technology. Some of the open source technologies supported by GCP such as Kubernetes, Go and TensorFlow as well as Pre-trained APIs, make the platform more viable for Google.
Service Exploration
Amazon offers different credit values for its different products but Google provides a fixed credit amount of 300USD for all of its services.
