Mail Forwarding Issue

During mail forwarding some of the mails get forwarded to undesired recipients. The main purpose of this document is to highlight the need of an accurate forwarding mechanism so that the forwarding between multiple purposes can be done in a correct and accurate manner.

Mail Forwarding Issue

Issue: There is a User A who has set mail forwarding to user B. User B is forwarding his emails to User C. Now the user C is also receiving mails from User A. This is the prior issue which we have to resolve.


Solution: In order to troubleshoot this issue need to set proper forwarding options with filter settings so that the desired result can be achieved. Kindly follow the steps:      


1. On Email Account of User A kindly do the following settings:         


2. Set up an forwarding for user B so that the incoming mails of User A can be forwarded to User B.Kindly refer to the screenshot also.




4. Click save and exit afterwards.      

5. Now  On Email Account of User B kindly do the following settings  


Note:­ Before Selecting the option “Disable Forwarding” under User B’s setting make sure you have added C’s account under Forwarding address. 6.Disable forwarding from  user B to User C so that the incoming mails of User B cannot be forwarded to User C.Kindly refer to the screenshot also:  



7.  Click save and exit afterwards.     


8. Now apply a filter from User B account as mentioned. In the “to” field put to:(“User B Email ID”) and also check forward it field and place the forward ID  of User C so that the mails which have the recipient address of only “User B” are only forward to “User C”. Kindly also refer the screenshot for the same.
