Send Mail as is a feature which helps in sending emails from a single mail address. It is very useful for the people who are using many mail addresses at the same time and need to reply the mail from a different mail address.

Complete Setup of Send Mail As

Send mail as is a concept which guides us how from a single Gmail account we can send emails from different mail address whereas we can’t see the reply send to that mail id.

As the reply would be going to the secondary mailbox respectively.

This can be done for the following:

  • Yahoo, Outlook, or other non-Gmail address

  • Work, School, or Business domain or aliases, like @domain.edu or abc@gmail.com

 

The following steps need to do to access this feature :

  • Step 1: Go to Gmail.

  • Step2: Go to top right and click on setting  Settings

  • Step 3: Click on the account and import tab

  • Step 4: Click on the "Send mail as" section, click Add another email address

  • Step 5: Enter the name and the address the user want to send from.

  • Step 6: Click Next Step -> Send verification.

  • Step 5: For school or work accounts, enter the SMTP server (for example, smtp.gmail.com or smtp.yourschool.edu) and the username and password on that account.

  • Step 6: Click Add Account

  • Step 7: After entering the code, click on the Verify button. The account is added as send email as.

Always send from a different address

 

If the user wants to always send from the other address, the user needs to change both his/her default "From" and "reply-to" address. If the user only changes the "From" address, replies will go to the user original Gmail address by default.
