Google Launches Advanced Data Export for Workspace Admins

Google's new advanced data export feature enables users to export data from various Google products, such as Google Workspace, in bulk and on a continuous basis. This allows for more in-depth analysis and integration with other data sources.

  • Now you can take backup or export your entire organization’s data or selected users’ data with Google’s new advanced data export feature from the admin panel.

Heads up: Your admin account needs to be at least 30 days old and have 2-step verification turned on to use this.

  • You can create the export depending on the Groups, Organization Unit, Single user and for the entire Organization.
  • After creating the data export request, Google will take some time to complete the process. Once the process is complete you can access the data in “ View Archive “.

  • Google by default Keeps the export data on a Cloud storage bucket in Zip format for 30 days. So you can download the data to your local device as a data backup

  • You can download the data one by one. If you want to download full data all at once or folder wise, then need to run the following command in Cloud shell command prompt

gsutil -m cp -r \

  "gs://takeout-export-5762933f-55a2-4608-8b69-85209426df99/20250710T075908Z" \

  "gs://takeout-export-5762933f-55a2-4608-8b69-85209426df99/Status Report.html" \

  • Once you complete the process you will be able to download folder wise or all the folders at once.

Good news: If your downloaded file is under 4.5 GB, it's free! Google gives you 5 GB of download storage per account. If you need more, you'll have to buy it.
