Do you remember the days way back, before Android and Smartphone came into the market, we used the Button phones having 14-16 buttons for operating which took more effort and time to perform each and everything? It was a bit boring. Then Android came into the Market, reduced that button pressing effort with touchscreen and more processing speed of mobile phones; they grew day by day and acquired 90% of Mobile market.
At the start of 2017 Google came up with an upgrade to this, and now you don’t even need to use your finger to operate your phone, all the tasks are performed with your voice command just say “OK Google”, ask whatever you want to do on your device and the Personal mobile assistant inside your Device will perform all those things for you on your behalf.
Google Assistant was initially introduced as a part of Google messaging app Allo, but later on it was deployed onto the android devices in February 2017. Also Google has announced the Software development kit which will extend the support to large variety of devices like vehicle, smart house appliances. With help of this SDK the Third party apps are also enhanced with this feature.
The best part of Google Assistant over its Competitor Siri is, It is a two-way Conversation using Google Natural Language Processing algorithm, it will make use of previous answer to find reference of the Next question or help needed. That is why it is very good in responding Contextual Question.
In May 2017 Google announced that Google Assistant would support keyboard for typed input & visual response support identifying objects to Gather visual information through device camera, will analyse that visual information and provide information about that object.

Unlocking your Phone

Google Assistant's greatest power is that it can draw information from other Google apps and services - including Photos, Calendar and Gmail - to provide information at a moment's notice when you need it. If you fear you've missed any emails from yesterday, you can always ask Google Assistant, "Did I miss any emails from yesterday?" and the assistant will pull up emails that remain unopened.
Get advice on where to eat, drink, dance or shop
If you're clueless as to where you should go for dinner or dancing, Google Assistant can help
by way of a Nearby feature, you can find out what places around cater to whatever you're in the mood to eat. Just ask Google Assistant to "show me nearby restaurants," and finding that great new spot is just a tap away. Google Assistant gives you a list of restaurant names with the establishments' star ratings; tap on a listing to get the address, directions and a link for calling the restaurant.
Let Google Assistant Make your shopping list
When in the grocery store, the last thing you want to do is fumble for your grocery list. If you've been using Google Keep, no worries: Google Assistant can grab your shopping list. You need only go into your Google Assistant settings, then select Shopping List beneath Pixel. The Assistant will enter into Google Keep and retrieve your list. Who knew hiring a professional shopper could be so fun, easy and free?
Wake up with Google Assistant
Now you do not need to fumble with the snooze button on that alarm clock in the morning when you can trust Google Assistant to wake you up on time. You need to only tell Google Assistant, "Wake me up at 6 a.m.," to set an alarm.

Use your camera to identify your surroundings
Google Lens is one of the Assistant's newest features, allowing you to point your phone's camera at an object and have it instantly recognized, complete with contextual responses. Snap a photo of a concert marquee, and Google Assistant will be able to parse out the name of the band and offer links to play their songs or buy tickets to the show. The feature isn't widely available yet – the only phones that support it are the Pixel and Pixel 2 – though Google is expected to make it available to more Android devices in the future.
