Easy Access to Office Attachments in Google Workspace
As per Google’s strategy to make products more user friendly, it has introduced some modifications in Google Workspace to allow users to collaborate, edit and view Office files in email in a convenient and quick way.

After receiving any message with an office attachment you will get an option to edit with certain Google Apps with which you will open the document in Google Doc, Sheets or slides directly. Also the original version of the document will be saved as well at the same time. Below attachment will help you to understand the same.
After opening the document you will also be able to send mail directly from there. There is an option in the file menu from where you can find an option to reply in the same mail thread.
There is no administrator control over this feature. All end users will have this facility. This is another addition in Google Workspace to increase resource productivity. This is not available in Google Workspace Enterprise Essentials and Essentials. Altogether, this feature is a time saving facility for users.
