Stay on Top of Shared Drive Files with Automatic Digest Emails
Stay informed with Google Workspace: get summarized reminders if someone hasn't opened your Google Drive for over 7 days, ensuring you never miss important files or shared permissions, even during hectic schedules or while away.
We all have been down that road where we have been on a vacation or on a leave for sometime and our mailbox and other attachments keep on bulking up. There’s no easy way for those to pop up in front of you when you join and get flooded left and right.
But not to worry anymore, Google Workspace has introduced a new feature for all its users where if you haven't been active for 7 days on drive and have multiple unread files then your Workspace account will send you a reminder mail that would give you a summary of the files that have been shared with you.
Most of us have a hectic schedule or a worked up weekend where files and documents may skip our eyes and be left unread and on a day to day basis it becomes difficult to keep track of it all.
You may be the Director of an organization and have to attend a number of meetings, travel to multiple locations and take care of other responsibilities. It will be difficult for you to check everything and stay up to date but with the Automatic Digest Emails feature you can get a summary of all the files that have been shared with you and take necessary actions accordingly.
The digest email will include information about the unviewed files that were shared with you and share a link to “See more activity” on the Drive Activity page.
This feature does not require any Admin action. If you want to adjust this option or turn it off then just go to your digest email footer and you will be able to see an unsubscribe option.
You can also navigate this change from drive.google.com > Settings > Notifications > “Get summaries about recent files shared with you via the Drive digest".
