Microsoft Planner

A planner not only helps to create plans, but it also helps in user time management.

Microsoft Planner

Planner is a tool introduced to organize the team and teamwork. Office 365 Planner provides a platform for an organization’s team members to create plans, organize and assign tasks to different users. Not only this, but Planners can also check updates on progress through dashboards. It also provides a centralized place where files can be shared and give visibility to the whole team.

Why “Planner”?

Microsoft Integrations

Using Planner means that you can easily integrate your tasks into Outlook, attach and view task documentation by linking to SharePoint, discuss a project within Teams while having your Plan open, hop onto a video call (with Teams, formerly Skype for Business) and much more! Using a third-party tool requires switching in and out of applications and reduces productivity. It can cause annoyance when trying to integrate or link to another well-used application.

Cost

No additional charges are included as it comes with the entire business package platform.

Using the Planner

To start, users need to create their first plan. If they have any pre-existing Groups set up, then it will automatically have a plan created against those and will appear on the Planner homepage. If not, users can create a plan quickly by clicking the New Plan:

Another interesting part of the planner is that it shows a graphical representation of the plans made by the users. This helps in time management of a user and thereby the organization.
