Google Assistant is Getting New Calendar and Email Functions for G Suite Accounts

Google Assistant is Google's AI-powered voice assistant. Google Assistant is designed for personal use while expanding on Google's existing "OK Google" voice controls.

Initially, Google Now smartly has pulled out the necessary information for you. It knew where you worked, your meetings and travel plans, the sports teams you liked, and what interest you had so that it could give you information that helps you.

“Google Assistant supports both text or voice entry and whichever entry method you're using”, it will follow the same.

It offers voice commands, voice searching, and voice-activated device control, helping you complete a number of tasks after you've said the "OK Google" or "Hey, Google" wake up words. It is designed to give you conversational interactions.

Google has some new functions and with its latest update for Assistant. Google says G Suite users can now use voice commands to perform the following Calendar and Gmail functions:

  • Ask when your next meeting is

  • Create, cancel, and reschedule Calendar events

  • Send emails to all attendees of a meeting

  • Send emails to specific contacts

  • Dial into meetings

First, these features are turned off by default and are currently present in beta. You’ll have to apply to use them. If you’re a domain administrator, that’s no problem; you can sign up here with all the necessary details. But you might have to convince your admin to apply it for your whole team if you’re trying to access this for a work account.

Secondly, when you’re logged in to both a personal Google account and a work G Suite account, Google Assistant will only work with one account at a time. You have to switch between those accounts if you’d like to ask a question about your other account. Let’s hope this Google Assistant will be more helpful in the future.
